What?! Not follow our passions?
Although the article we link to here can be a bit confronting at first (it was for me), I think the author has a number of good insights. Specifically, if we only look inward at our own passions, it can… well… just keep us looking inward. And ultimately this can leave us without a deeper connection to ourselves and our communities.
Because these are such extraordinary times we’re facing, he challenges us to understand our talents, look into problems that affect us in a very personal way, and become a valuable contributor with those talents somewhere in our communities or around the globe.
Perhaps, once we do this, the impact we can make on people can even become the passion we’ve been looking for.
And I say this all with one caveat. See if you feel some joy and happiness while you’re contributing back. We certainly don’t want it to be all work and no play
